Qualifications for Trainers, Assessors & Internal Verifiers

Since 2013 all trainers delivering First Aid courses must have a recognised formal teaching qualification.   A few of our less experienced lifeguard trainers undertook online courses, but were disappointed with the level of support they received.   So in 2016 SwimBag were approved and started delivering the Level 3 Award in Education & Training.   This proved so successful and with several clients asking for a quicker way to get qualify their staff,  we now offer a face to face classroom-based option.
Due to demand, we also offer a Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment which is ideal for the trainer without an assessing element on their teaching qualification.  Some Awarding Organisations are now asking for formal qualifications for those responsible for Internal Quality Assurance.  The Level 4 Award in Understanding the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice exceeds their demands.  Please call us to talk about your needs.

Classroom Courses

If you have sufficient candidates needing a formal teaching qualification, we can deliver courses on site for you.

We have delivered a series of courses for Nuffield Health, so their staff can teach lifeguards and first aiders on internal courses.

The 4 day package can take up to 12 learners and may be the most cost effective way of training your staff to train others.

It could work out at around £300 per person.

On Line Learning
If you can't get to a classroom-based course, we can offer the Active IQ Level 3 Award in Education and Training and the Level 4 Award in Understanding Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice via eLearning.

After induction, we get you logged into our eLearning web portal.  You work through the qualifications units on your PC and complete a workbook as you go.  We send you a text book to provide additional reading and guidance.  For the AET you'll need to do come teaching, this can be recorded or you can come and join us or if distance permits we'll come to you and observe you.

All our Tutor / Assessors are RLSS National Trainer Assessors or Mentors and First Aid Trainers.  So we are particularly well equipped to support those looking to train Lifeguards and First Aiders.

If you have no desire to teach First Aid, don't worry. We have had learners taking the AET online because they want to teach subjects such as:

Manual Handling
Mini Bus driving
Hospitality
Pool Plant
Health & Safety
and many more
